In addition to the above resources, we here at Leaf411 have taken the confusing nature of calculating how many mg you may be using when inhaling, based on a few key pieces of information:
“How many MG am I using?” is a complex question with an answer that requires math! Hold on to your hats, this is going to be a wild ride.
Weight conversions FOR FLOWER!!! Conversion factor 1g =1000mg
1/8th of an oz = 3.5g or 3500mg
¼ of an ounce would be 7.5g or 7500mg,
½ would be 14g or 14000mg,
¾ of an ounce = 21.5g is 21,500mg,
1 ounce would be 28g or 28,000mg.
How often are you purchasing flower, what is the THC percentage and how much do you purchase?
Ex: I purchase half an ounce (14g) every two weeks (14 days). It is usually around 26% THC.
Flower % X Weight / how often you purchase
26% x 14g / 14 days
When we want to know how many mg may be in a gram, we need to know the % amount. 1gram = 1000mg therefore a 26% (move decimal place two to the left to make the fraction) THC product = 0.26 x 1000mg = 260mg possibly in one gram of flower.
EX: 260 x 14g = 3,640g / 14 days = 260mg (0.26g) average/day
If you purchase 1oz of 26% THC flower every 2 weeks: 260 x 28g = 7280g / 14 days = 520mg (0.52g)average/day

To convert Concentrated Oil Pens (vapes) DO NOT NEED Weight Conversions.
What is the THC %?
What is the total weight of the cart (0.5g or 1g)?
How often are you purchasing them?
EX: 78.2% THC x 1gram cart / 30days
0.782 (changed the potency percentage to a decimal) X 1000mg (changed 1g to 1000mg to calculate)
= 782mg per 1gm vape cartridge / 30 days = 26mg/day average
